Conclusion

For those of you not inclined to watch my wrap-up, our Jund Lukka Surprise deck featuring Karn, the Great Creator underperformed for us in our friendly league. There were several games where we just needed to draw Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast and we would’ve won, but we just couldn’t find him. This is one weakness of our Jund version: it’s less consistent. We don’t have nearly as many ways to dig for one of our four copies of Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast. Karn, the Great Creator is supposed to help ameliorate this reduced consistency, but in many of our games, we couldn’t even find that Planeswalker. Variance played an outsized role in our record, as many games we flooded out in a major way. I’ll keep working on the deck and trying out different versions, but for now, the infatuation with this combo has worn off and it’s time to return to my first love: dragons. Be on the lookout for a Budget Gruul Dragons build I’ll be posting about soon!

As always, thanks for reading and watching! Let me know in the comments how you would change this deck!
