Welcome to the third video in my series, Old Cards, Still Good! While writing about my Commander decks, I frequently come across forgotten gems that fit certain themes or strategies extremely well. Some are unique at what they do, while some are just the right amount of jank for the deck I’m discussing. In this column, I’ll highlight these cards for you. Many are budget friendly, though not all.

A quick word about this edition’s featured card: it’s not that old. It was printed in 2019, but only for Wizards’ Game Night decks. I was living in the middle of nowhere in 2019 and so never made it to a LGS to see this on sale. I’m guessing that a lot of people either never saw this card when it was released, or have forgotten about it.

So rather than make a whole new series called, I don’t know, Forgotten, but Not Lost, I decided to stretch my meaning of old this time around. Moving forward, if I keep finding recent hidden gems I want to highlight, I’ll consider a new series.
