Hello! Welcome to a special 4th of July edition of Dragons in Modern! I’m playing America Dragons for Independence Day…that is, Jeskai Dragons. If you weren’t aware, before Jeskai was a thing, people playing Jeskai often referred to their decks as America (fill in the blank). Thus, for this 4th of July I decided to celebrate it with a special America Dragons in Modern.
I haven’t had much time to test the deck, but I’ve gotten a few matches in. Here’s the deck list:

Primary Game Plan
Given that I’m not even supposed to be publishing an article this week, I’ll make this quick. We’re trying to stall our opponent in the early game with cards like High Noon, Dragon Turtle, and Clarion Conqueror until we make it to the mid game when we can deploy Magmatic Hellkite and Glorybringer.
Temporary Lockdown gives us a maindeck way of resetting the board against many of the most popular strategies in Modern, while Roiling Dragonstorm in conjunction with our 15 Dragons ensures we churn through our deck to make our land drops, find our answers, and stick our threats on time.
With this in mind, our ideal opening 7 will include Roiling Dragonstorm and High Noon. A Lightning Bolt and 3-drop Dragon alongside three lands is perfect.
Now, let’s get to the few matches I was able to play!
Match 1 vs. Neoform Combo
Match 2 vs. Hammertime
To be continued! I’ll add what I can when I manage to find some time, but so far the deck has been super fun!
Thanks for reading and watching!
