The most well-known and frequently played tutors in White are ones that search up equipment, enchantments, or lands. These are undoubtedly powerful, but White also has a variety of tutors that let you go get a creature.

What makes many of these so great is how budget-friendly they are!

Here are my top 5 budget mono White creature tutors for Commander:

Rather Watch?

Honorary Mention

Guardian Sunmare – .38 cents.

If you get to jump through all the hoops more than once, this card should take over a game. Ward helps with this, at least.

What makes this card so unusual for White tutors is that it lets us get a nonland permanent, rather than a creature, equipment, or land. Of course, there is a mana restriction.

This card is a sweet shout-out to Sun Titan.

5.

Tale of Momo – .33 cents

Sure, we’re limited to just Allies, but with the printing of Avatar: The Last Airbender, we have a bunch of new and powerful targets for any W/X deck.

AND we get to search our graveyard and library.

But there’s more! This tutor will only cost us if a creature we control has left the battlefield. Outside of blink strategies, we can also get the Ally our opponent only just killed, as long as it’s our turn.

4.

Thalia’s Lancers – .50 cents

5 mana for a 4/4 first striker isn’t bad, though I doubt it’d see any play in Commander with just these stats. Of course, this Human Knight is a tutor, as well, and a very unique one at that.

We get to tutor up ANY legendary card, not just a creature. There are a lot of powerful legendary cards in Magic: The Gathering, in case you were unaware.

Or we can just go get all those fun legendary creatures in Mono White…like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar if we need to make tokens.

Cloud, Midgar Mercenary if we want to then go search up some equipment.

Or Haliya, Guided by Light if we need some card draw.

The list really just goes on and on.

One of my favorite noncreature targets for this spell is…

Mana ramp and creature-token generation all in one!

3.

The Seriema – $1.58

It’s a narrow win for this Spaceship, mainly because it is a better threat that doubles as protection for at least some of our team, including the legendary creature we tutor up. Note that you can continue to station spacecraft even after they become artifact creatures.

I play this in my Trigger Copy with Kirol, Attentive First-Year deck, which runs a ton of legendary creatures.

2.

War of the Last Alliance – $1.64

What’s better than tutoring up 1 legendary creature? That’s right…tutoring up 2!

Adding to the value we get from this saga is a potential game-ending third chapter.

1.

Turtles Forever – .40 cents

With a little bit of effort, particularly with W/X decks, we can have enough redundancy to ensure we get two cards we want/need.

Even without that, though, there are so many powerful legendary creatures in the game, our opponent will be left picking their poison.

For instance, against a Mono White Human deck and on a stalled board, which two would you likely give your opponent?

Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading and watching! What are your favorite budget tutors/
